Principal's Message

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the Octavius V. Catto Community School's webpage for the 2008 - 2009 school year. The staff and I are looking forward to your being a part of our school family. We need your full support and participation.
Education is an ongoing process in and out of school. As educators, we have committed ourselves to the education of all of the students we teach. Our mission is to provide a school climate that promotes and maintains our high standards and high expectations for student achievement and performance. Our goal is to recognize and meet the individual needs of our diverse student population. To this end, we will work with students, parents, and the community to address barriers to learning through a comprehensive and multifaceted educational program.
Parent participation in the education of their children is integral to the success of the students. It is our desire to build collaborative relationships with parents to enhance students’ success. We encourage parents to volunteer in the school and to attend parent meetings, workshops and school events. The focus of all parental involvement is designed to improve student academic achievement, school performance, behavior, and any other needs children may have that will help them to become successful learners.
